Four people displaced after Gastonia house fire

GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) -

Four people were displaced from their home after an early morning house fire in Gastonia.

The incident was reported at 2:34 a.m. on the 1600 block Patricia Street, according to a news release from the Gastonia Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to see moderate smoke coming from the attic area.

It took crews from five fire apparatus (22 personnel) around 10 minutes to get fire under control and extinguished.

There were no injuries to the occupants or fire personnel. Four adults were displaced and the Red Cross is assisting the family.

Approximately $30,000 in damages to the house

After an investigation, it was determined the fire was caused due to electrical problems around the breaker box.

Red Cross will be assisting the displaced occupants.
