Police: Seneca man entered Clemson student's dorm, stole from purse

CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Seneca man was arrested after university police said he entered a Clemson student's dorm room and stole from her purse.

Richard Clayton Sr., 44, was charged with trespassing after notice, petit larceny (less than $2,000) and financial transaction card theft, according to Clemson University police

Police said Clayton followed someone into Manning Hall and stole the wallet with debit and gift cards inside. They said he also said a cell phone and keys were taken from the room.

Police said Clayton is being held at the city jail.
