ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Dispatchers in Buncombe County said there is a phone outage for some in the north part of the county and in a portion of Madison County.

Brad Edwards, communication dispatcher for Buncombe County, said the outage was impacting residences and businesses with the first three numbers 645 and 658.

Edwards said they do not know what caused the outage. He said they expect it to take about five hours to repair.

Anyone affected by the outage cannot make calls, including emergency calls, Edwards said. Anyone with an emergency is asked to go to their local fire department for help.
