A Greer man was arrested following an investigation into claims of illegal dumping of harmful substances in Spartanburg County.
Timothy Howard, 48, is charged with obstruction of justice and perjury. His company's license was suspended back in August following an investigation by DHEC that found chemicals called PCBs in the company's equipment.
Howard was accused of illegally dumping the waste into Lyman's water treatment system. Investigators said he falsely testified that his company never carried the industrial waste, which they said witness statements contradicted.
Howard was released on bond Thursday.
