The Pickens County sheriff said a missing person report inadvertently sparked a two-county chase that ended in a crash Friday night.
Deputies responded to a missing person's report on South Fishtrap Road in Pickens County, and while they were on the scene, a different car saw police lights and sped off, according to Pickens County Sheriff Rick Clark.
Clark said a deputy followed that car and a chase ensued. The car drove into Greenville County and eventually crashed and flipped along Pendleton Street near the Cracker Jack's convenience store.
The driver was taken into custody.
Clark said the suspect will be charged with failure to stop for blue lights and driving under suspension.
The missing woman involved in the case that inadvertently lead to the chase has since been in contact with her family.
