GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Volunteers helped made Christmas dreams come true for hundreds of struggling Upstate family Saturday morning.

The volunteers handed out over 10,000 toys to families outside Redemption World Outreach Center's Teen Center on Haywood Road in Greenville.

R.W.O.C. Outreach Director Jennifer Parker said the giveaways were part of the Holiday Hope program, which is sponsored by the mega church and a coalition of community partners.

Through a partnership with the Marines' Toys for Tots program, Parker said R.W.O.C was able to receive and donate thousands of toys to families who pre-registered.

"By distributing gifts to those in need in Greenville County, we are putting the love of Christ into action," Parker said.

Parker said the church also launched an extension to the Holiday Hope event called Hope Beyond the Holiday. She said that program will provide struggling families with resources that will empower and inspire them.
