UNA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said an Una woman was charged with attempted murder and arson third degree after she attempted to burn down her home while others were inside.

Lt. Kevin Bobo with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said deputies and the Una Fire Department responded to an active fire call at a residence on Euclid Road shortly after 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Bobo said the fire caused minimal damage, and the people inside were able to get out of the house without injury.

Bobo said Maria Teresa O'Neil, 59, was taken into custody at the scene.

O'Neill is currently being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
