Haywood, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A Silver Alert has been canceled for a Haywood County man who went missing Saturday evening.

Deputies said Charles Doering, 69, of Beaverdam, was found just before noon Sunday. They said he had driven up a steep driveway off Max Patch in the upper end of Fines Creek, and his pickup truck got stuck in the mud. He was found by a caretaker of the property.

The Haywood County Sheriff's Office said Doering spent the night in his truck. They said he was cold and wet, but unharmed.

On Saturday, officials said Doering was driving a silver-colored 2007 two-door Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck home from Tennessee when he took a wrong turn off exit 104 from Highway 74 around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies said Doering has not returned home and that he does not have a mobile telephone with him.

Deputies said Doering is about 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, with silver hair, blue eyes and glasses.

The North Carolina tag number for the pickup truck is ZPE-7996.

The truck has a Marine Corps sticker in the back window.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Haywood County Sheriff's Office at (828) 452-6666.
