GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A strong line of heavy showers and isolated storms began moving through the Upstate Sunday morning, according to Chief Meteorologist Kendra Kent.

"Expect some heavy downpours, gusty winds and occasional lightning across our area through the afternoon," Kent said.

The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for several counties in Northeast Georgia, Western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina through Sunday night.

The NWS said rainfall between two and four inches was expected to fall Sunday.

The NWS said flood watches were in effect for low-lying areas and other areas near streams, creeks and lakes in Greenville, Anderson, Pickens, Spartanburg, and Oconee Counties in South Carolina. The watch also included Avery, Burke, Buncombe, Caldwell, Polk, Rutherford, Henderson, McDowell, Macon, Mitchell, and Jackson counties in North Carolina. Areas affected in Georgia included Elbert, Franklin, Hart, and Stephens Counties.
