Mauldin police: Help needed in investigation after fatal wreck

MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police are looking for witnesses after a fatal car crash Monday morning.

Police said the crash happened just after 9 a.m. on West Butler Road between West Point Boulevard and Whatley Circle.

Authorities indicated the collision involved a white box truck, a Chrysler Pacifica and a Subaru Outback.

One person was killed in the collision, and two others were injured.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans identified the victim as Michelle Gaither, 36, of Greenville. Gaither was driving the Pacifica and was not wearing a seatbelt, Evans said. An autopsy will be performed on Tuesday.

Mauldin Police Det. Benjamin Ford said that anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact law enforcement to assist in the investigation at (864) 289-8900.
