SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police are investigating a home invasion and kidnapping ordeal that spanned over 12 hours Tuesday.

According to the report from the Spartanburg Public Safety Department, the female victim was awaiting the arrival of her boyfriend early Tuesday morning when two masked men gained entry into her home on Everett Street.

The report states one of the men pointed a gun to her head and forced her into a bedroom while the other took a television and a purse.

The victim told police she was later forced outside and into the trunk of her car, which was left on the side of the road. She said she was ultimately discovered around noon Thursday by two teens who heard her banging on her trunk door. After she was discovered, she said she drove herself home.

Police reported that the victim's vehicle appeared to be ransacked, with the center console and glove box open, with papers strewn about the vehicle.

Police are investigating the incident and have no suspects at this time.
