GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man was shot in the city of Greenwood on Thursday, which led to a local hospital being locked down, according to police and hospital officials.

Lt. Daniel Watt of the Greenwood Police Department said they got a call about a man being shot around 6:15 p.m. When they arrived they found a man between Osborne Ave. and Spring Valley Road in a field between some houses, Watt said.

Watt said they haven't been able to get much information about the shooter because the victim isn't saying much.

The victim was brought to Self Regional Hospital at about 6:50 p.m. and the hospital was put on lockdown from then until 8:30 p.m.

Officials with the hospital said it is their policy to go on lockdown when gunshot victims come in and it's unknown who the shooter is or the circumstances surrounding the gunshot.

According to a spokesperson for the hospital, the man was treated and released from the hospital.
