WATERLOO, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Laurens County woman said she watched more than four decades of memories burn Thursday night when her home on Relax Street, in the Waterloo area, was destroyed in a fire.

The homeowner said she lost everything she owned in the house, which firefighters said was a total loss.

The homeowner said she had lived at the house for 45 years.

She said she waited for more than an hour for firefighters to arrive on scene.

Fox Carolina hasn't had a chance to talk to firefighters about their response time.

Firefighters did tell our crew at the scene that no one was hurt in the fire.

The Laurens County Fire Coordinator Greg Lindley said they received the call for the fire at 8:13 p.m. and volunteer firefighters with the Waterloo Fire Department showed up in their personal vehicles at 8:16 p.m.

Lindley said the first fire engine left the station at 8:22 p.m. and arrived on the scene at 8:31 p.m., 18 minutes after the first call.
