GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies are searching for multiple shooters after a man was shot in the leg in Cherokee County on Friday.

Rick Turner of the sheriff's office said the incident happened on 6th Street, near the Hardee's in Gaffney at about 3:30 p.m.

Sheriff Steve Mueller said he believes there were multiple shooters.

The victim was transported to Spartanburg Regional Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Turner said. Friends of the victim identified him as David Bean.

Turner said he did not know what spurred on the shooting.

No suspects are in custody at this time, Mueller said.

Another shooting was reported at the same address on Christmas Day, according to the sheriff.

The woman who owns the home says the violence is upsetting, and there are several young children who live inside the residence.

"One of these children, my grandchildren might get killed," said Beverly Ray. "I want the sheriff to put a stop to this gang. I want Sheriff Mueller to step in now."
