Posted: Updated:

A man wanted for multiple bank robberies in Florida was caught in Greenville on Friday afternoon, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

Andrew Fox, of Pinellas County Florida, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Frontage Road, near Platinum Plus just after 2 p.m., the sheriff's office confirmed.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office said the U.S. Marshals task force got a tip that Fox was in the Greenville area. They said Fox ran briefly but was captured without incident.

Marshals on the scene told a FOX Carolina photographer that canines were used to search for a potential gun that Fox might have dropped.
