GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

As many as 170 of the homeless in Greenville piled into the Salvation Army Monday night taking shelter from the cold.

Lt. Rob Dolby with the Salvation Army said they had to bring in extra cots to accommodate the number of people they had come in. They said they are not turning anyone away during the cold snap, and will be open indefinitely this week.

Breakfast was served Tuesday morning to anyone coming in from the cold.

If you would like to donate to the Salvation Army, call 1-800-SAL-ARMY. A donation of $10 will provide three meals and a warm bed for one person.
