Coroner identifies man killed in crash along White Horse Rd.

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that blocked part of White Horse Road in Greenville County for a few hours Tuesday morning.

The Greenville County Coroner said 61-year-old Frank Obermill Reed was killed when he was hit by a car trying to cross White Horse Road at Claxton Drive at 8:20 a.m.

FOX Carolina crews at the scene said only the outside lanes of the highway were open to thru traffic at about 9:45 a.m.

The coroner said Reed was wearing his seatbelt and the cause of death was blunt force trauma of the torso.
