LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Laurens County deputies said a Donalds man took advantage of a 94-year-old woman, when he claimed to do repair work for her but instead cashed the checks without doing the work.

Deputies said someone filed the report on behalf of the victim, stating Carl Aiken took $16,200 from her.

According to the deputy's report, Aiken's alleged work was paid out in 16 checks that he cashed at two local banks, but he never performed the work.

Aiken was charged with 16 counts of exploitation of a vulnerable adult and is being held on a $160,000 bond.

Deputies ask anyone who may have had services provided by Aiken to call Lt. Jawarski Shelton with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office at 864-984-4967.
