ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville Police said a 17-year-old has been charged after a man was found assaulted at a bus stop in Pisgah View Apartments and died three days later.

Sgt. Dave Romick said Quwiivonte Perry Timmons, of Asheville, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the assault that led to the death of a 31-year-old man.

Police said Patrick Frances Saunders was found unconscious on the sidewalk at 8:19 p.m. on Jan. 3. They said it appeared Saunders had received a blow to the head.

Romick said the incident appears to be "random, isolated, and senseless."

Sgt. Dave Romick said the victim was transported to Mission Hospital where he died three days later.

Timmons is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Buncombe Detention Facility.
