(RNN) - Trumpet player Jesse McGuire's interpretation of the National Anthem that brought the house down at the Panthers-49ers game last Sunday is still attracting a lot of attention on the Web days after the game.

Sites as diverse as Deadspin and Business Insider have praised McGuire's rendition.

McGuire is a former member of the jazz ensemble Tower of Power and has electrified crowds with his version of The Star Spangled Banner for years.

It has been compared to other classic versions, including Marvin Gaye's performance at the 1983 NBA All-Star Game and Whitney Houston's 1991 version at Super Bowl XXV.

The performance was captured by Kami Mattioli of Sporting News, who wore a Google Glass to the game and reported from the sidelines and news conferences.
