CAVE CREEK, AZ (CBS5) -
Two teenagers who disappeared from Cave Creek earlier this month have been found in California.
The Phoenix Police Department said the teens, who are boyfriend and girlfriend, both left notes that they were running away to get married. The parents then reached out to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children spokeswoman Rebecca Kovar said they were looking for 15-year-old Jack Nelson and 15-year-old Morgan Kallusky.
Morgan's mother, Michelle LeMay, said she filed a report with the Phoenix Police Department and worked with the Los Angeles Police Department. LeMay also said she was told the teens were looking for an apartment in the area of Hope and Flower near downtown Los Angeles.
Jack's mother, Susan Nelson, said her son stole his grandmother's car, a 2002 gold Acura with Arizona license plates 436FSV.
"They're 15; they don't have driver's licenses," LeMay told CBS 5 News after their disappearance. "They're endangering themselves and others on the road. I mean, that is endangerment. That is scary."
Susan Nelson said Jack also took $1,000 from his sister's piggy bank and stole her wedding ring.
LeMay said both teens took their laptops and cell phones, but their phones are apparently turned off.
