Rescuers locate two missing hikers in Walhalla

WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A search and rescue was underway Tuesday, for two people who were lost in the woods.

Just after 5 p.m., Oconee County rescuers were alerted that two people were lost at the Yellow Branch Water Falls in Walhalla.

Rescuers arrived on scene quickly and deployed a team down the trail that leads to the falls.

With the help of the Oconee County 911 Center, rescuers were able to locate the two missing people, and lead them out of the woods to safety.

The subjects were a male and a female, both in their early 20s. There were no reported injuries.
