HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A Hendersonville man turned himself into law enforcement after deputies said he abused his own baby.

Henderson County deputies said Anthony Stepp, 21, was charged with one count of misdemeanor child abuse and turned himself in on Tuesday.

According to deputies, their investigation along with the Department of Social Services revealed Stepp's 3-month-old child had been abused. Stepp's arrest warrant states that he injured the child, breaking the baby's left leg (fibia).

Deputies said Stepp was released on $10,000 bond and is due back in court in February. According to his release orders, Stepp is not to have contact with the child unless it is through DSS.
