North Carolina Growth Point of Focus for Retailer
ELKIN, N.C., Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sheetz Convenience Restaurants today opens a new location in Elkin, Surry County, North Carolina at 401 CC Camp Road at 11:00 a.m. Executive Vice President of Operations for Sheetz, Travis Sheetz, will be joined by town and county officials for the grand opening celebration.
As the company opens this location in the morning, plans will be underway for the second of two grand openings taking place today across the state in Goldsboro. Together they bring the total number of Sheetz stores in North Carolina to 60, a milestone that will quickly advance later in 2014.
"We are committed to opening several more locations across North Carolina this year," says president and CEO, Joe S. Sheetz. "It's been a great area of growth for Sheetz and is a big area of focus for our company's future."
"The support residents have shown at our existing stores has been terrific. We are building loyalty with people here and want that to continue," adds Joe."
Sheetz says the new 6,500-square-foot store will provide an economic boost to the area, creating 40-45 new full and part-time jobs, while adding $3.5 million taxable property value to the city and county tax base.
The celebration will include games and chances for customers to win dozens of prizes.
"We try to make all of our openings fun for everyone with local officials participating and lots of activities, games and samples of Sheetz food and beverages," Joe says.
Sheetz also will make a $2,500 donation to the Special Olympics North Carolina, as part of the grand opening festivities. The company has been proud supporters of the Special Olympics for more than 20 years.
The new Sheetz will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and offer fresh food items like Sheetz' signature Made-To-Order® (MTO®) items that include Angus beef burgers, premium grilled chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads, French fries, onion rings and more. The new store will also feature our M-T-Go! and Shweetz Bakery lines of sandwiches, wraps, donuts and muffins, along with Sheetz Bros. Coffeez®, a full-service espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista where customers can order hand-made specialty coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas - hot, frozen or iced.
