GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers said Interstate 85 has reopened after a car headed north collided with a tractor-trailer traveling south in Cherokee County Friday afternoon.

The crash initially stopped traffic along the interstate southbound when it happened at 1:15 p.m., according to FOX Carolina iWitnesses. The interstate was reopened just after 5 p.m.

Troopers said the driver of a car lost control, crossed the median and hit the truck near mile marker 84, at the Spartanburg County line.

Only the outside lane of southbound I-85 remains blocked because of the wreck.

There is no word on injuries or other details about the crash. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
