SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Spartanburg Police said an assault and battery suspect damaged a patrol car after he was detained by officers.
Officers said they were called to an apartment on Crescent Avenue on Friday, after a woman reported that her son had thrown a knife through her kitchen window and threatened to kill everyone who was inside her home.
The woman said her son, Keymo Dawkins, became irate when she wouldn't allow him inside the home because he was trespassed from the property, police said.
Police said they caught up with Dawkins, 19, and placed him in a patrol car. Police say Dawkins then banged his head on the shield separating the front and back seats and also kicked the right rear door of the door, damaging it.
Police said while they were driving Dawkins to the detention center he said that if he knew that he would be going to jail, he would have "slapped an officer or done something to really go to jail for," according to arrest reports.
Police said once Dawkins was in a holding cell Spartanburg County Detention Center, he began kicking the cell door and throwing wads of wet tissue at the door.
Dawkins was charged with two counts on malicious injury to real property less than $1,000, trespass first offense, and assault and battery third degree. He's being held on a $2,400 bond.
