Chilly overnight with possible snow along TN border

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

We will gear up for another cold night Saturday with lows dipping into the mid to upper 20s overnight.

We will likely see clouds increase across the area as snow flurries line up along the Tennessee border. We can expect to see between 1 and 2 inches at higher elevations with some flurries breaking into western North Carolina.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Graham, Swain, Haywood, Madison, Yancey and Mitchell counties that will be in effect from midnight through 10 a.m. Sunday. The best chance of snow flurries will be right before sunrise on Sunday morning.

Skies will slowly clear up as the day progresses on Sunday opening up to mostly sunny skies by mid-afternoon. Highs will be closer to average with temperatures peaking in the lower 50s in the Upstate and lower 40s across the mountains.

Winds will be breezy out of the north and west, gusting as fast at 25 mph in some locations.

Monday will welcome in warmer air with mostly sunny skies. Another drop in temperatures will occur by midweek.
