PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Contractors were able to put up a temporary wall at a home near 75th Avenue and Camelback Sunday afternoon almost as fast as it came down.

Less than 24 hours prior, Phoenix Police said an out of control pickup slammed into the house, ending up parked in a bedroom.

Kevin Learned lives in the home. He told CBS 5 that normally two of his daughters would have been sleeping in the room when the crash happened.

Learned said he, his wife and their new baby were in the living room watching a movie when they heard tires squealing.

"We started getting up out of the chairs. We heard the screeching stop, which must have been when he got to the yard and in the next couple seconds right through the house. I went to make sure two of my kids were OK because we weren't sure where the truck hit. They were fine. I went and I looked in the other room and all I saw was headlights and smoke," said Learned.

Learned and his wife then ran outside.

"We were yelling, 'Are you OK? Are you OK?' Nobody was responding. That's when we knew nobody was in the vehicle," said Learned.

Learned said it took a tow truck more than an hour to pull the front end of the truck out of his daughters' room. Inside,  the force of the crash sent cinder blocks flying.

"There was a dresser that was sitting at the window and the whole dresser was pushed up against the bunk beds that were against the opposite wall," said Learned.

Holding one of his daughters, Learned said he's thankful no one was in the room.

"By the grace of God we all came out OK," said Learned.

Police did track down the driver. He was taken to the hospital. There's no word yet on his condition or if he might have been intoxicated.
