A local restaurant owner has brought a new approach to fast food in Cincinnati.
Former New York City restaurant and bar owner Dan Katz has migrated to Cincinnati to open Meatball Kitchen on Short Vine.
Katz and Chef Jason Louda stopped by FOX19 Morning News to discuss their new restaurant with Jacki Jing and Rob Williams.
Chef Louda tells FOX19 that the meatballs have started to become quite the trend in the restaurant industry.
The restaurant serves house-made meatballs on fresh Italian bread, house-made salads and a wide variety of meatball menu items including the Bacon Cheeseburger Meatball.
Chef Louda tells FOX19 that the Bacon Cheeseburger Meatball is a sandwich served on top of an English muffin topped with smoked bacon, smoke cheddar, Grippos BBQ potato chips, Grippos sauce and caramelized onions.
If you're a fan of spicy food then Chef Louda suggests the Spicy Pork Meatballs. This spicy treat is made with fresh ground pork, a hint of chili, paprika, cinnamon and a few other ingredients the chef wanted to keep secret.
That's not at all, Louda tells FOX19 that their Buffalo Chicken Meatballs are one of their most popular menu items. The Buffalo Chicken Meatballs are house-made chicken meatballs served with a traditional buffalo wing sauce and cream parmesan dressing. Yum!
With the restaurant close to UC's campus, Katz says it a place where students and faculty can go for a quick bite.
Meatball Kitchen opens form 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Thursday to Saturday. They're also open 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Sunday.
