TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Travelers Rest residents and people enjoying Swamp Rabbit trail may have noticed a strange site in front of the old Post Office in recent days.

Crews are in the process of turning the facility at 26 South Main Street into the Swamp Rabbit Brewery and Taproom.

According to the brewery's Facebook page, the first of three flatbed trucks carrying huge beer tanks and other brewing components arrived from Oregon on Saturday.

Brewery officials said two more trucks arrived Monday morning, carrying a total of 14 brewing tanks, which workers and volunteers began installing.

Brewery officials said once the tanks were installed, it would take about 40 days to brew the inaugural batch of beer.

According to their Facebook page, The Swamp Rabbit Brewery is scheduled to open in March. It will be the first and only microbrewery in Travelers Rest, and will feature an on-site taproom and beer garden.
