Carolinas, northeast GA face extreme cold with more to come

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Temperatures will range from the single digits in parts of the mountains to the teens in the Upstate Wednesday morning.

The wind will add to the chill, making it feel 10-20 degrees colder than the actual temperature.

Snow will wind down in the mountains by Wednesday morning, but roads will be slick through much of the day. Western North Carolina saw everywhere from 0.5 to 4 inches of snow Tuesday.

Another cold front moves in Thursday, and that will keep the arctic air well entrenched across our area.

By Thursday night we'll be even colder, with lows dropping to around 14 in the Upstate and 7 in the mountains.
