GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville's annual fall festival announced on Wednesday that they are giving tens of thousands of dollars back to the community.

Fall for Greenville board members gave $50,000, which was generated during the 2013 festival, to seven local nonprofits.

The local charities that received the grants included boy scout troop 260, Greenville Chinese Association, Greenville in Harmony, Hands on Greenville, Newcomers of Greenville on behalf of Meals on Wheels of Greenville, the Red Shoe Society and Surgeons for Sight.

An estimated 150,000 to 200,000 people attended the festival, and 1,800 volunteers donated their time to the October event.
