Marshals arrest man wanted in fatal Indiana wreck in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man wanted in Indiana in connection with a multi-car wreck that turned fatal was arrested Wednesday in Greenville, SC, according to federal officials.

US Marshals said they arrested Scott Saunders, 51, in Greenville on 16 counts from Allen County, IN, including reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter and criminal recklessness.

According to the US Marshals Service, Saunders was driving a semi-truck when he hit several cars stopped at intersection of State Road 930 East and Doyle Road in the New Haven area on Jan. 8.

Authorities said two people died in the crash and numerous people were injured.

According to the Marshals, when they arrested Saunders on Wednesday on the Indiana warrants, he admitted he knew what they were about. No information has been released as to why Saunders was in Greenville.

Saunders is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting extradition.
