A man has been charged after police said they found a large amount of synthetic marijuana and several gambling machines in Asheville.
Police said they executed the search warrant on a FedEx package on Wednesday and found various packages of synthetic marijuana, with names like "Bizzarro", "Scooby Snacks", and "Superman."
Asheville police, assisted by the Buncombe County's anti-crime task force, executed a search warrant at the store Cigs and Soda at 1005 Tunnel Road in Asheville, according to police.
Police said the owner of the business had opened the package containing the synthetic marijuana.
Officers seized the drug and also recovered more synthetic marijuana that was already in the store.
Officers said they also found five electronic gambling machines being operated in the store.
According to police the owner of the store, Khaled Abed Ammar, consented to a search at his other store on Highway 70 in Swannanoa, where BCAT officers seized more synthetic marijuana and three more gambling machines.
Ammar is charged with felony possession of a schedule six substance, maintaining a place for a controlled substance, possession of or operating an electronic gambling machine, and one other controlled substance charge, according to police.
