ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Thursday night's cold weather caused an 8-inch main water line along an Anderson County highway to break, spill water, then freeze.

According to Homeland Park Water and Sewer, the link broke along Highway 28 and Pearman Dairy Road early Friday morning. The water spilled across the road, then froze and iced up the highway.

Drivers were detoured around the area and sand was put down. Crews were out trying to fix the line. The sewer district said they were trying to fix it under pressure so they don't have to shut off water to the many businesses and homes in the area.
