Posted: Updated:
ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies did not locate a man they said tried to break into a Homeland Park home Monday morning while at least one person was still at the house.

Anderson County deputies said they were called to the Marlon Avenue home in Anderson about 9:40 a.m. after a resident reported the home invasion.

Deputies said the intruder fled on foot, so search dogs were brought in but they did not locate him.

Lt. Sheila Cole with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said it was not clear if the suspect was able to get inside the home or steal anything as the investigation was ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
