SCDOT: 1,100 workers tend to snowy roads

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) released an update for the western part of the state for the snowy Tuesday evening. 

SCDOT said they have over 1,100 maintenance employees actively involved in road operations for the winter weather in the area. They said the crews are working around the clock on rotating 12-hour shifts for the snow that is partially covering roads.

According to SCDOT they have applied 1,205 tons of salt, 155 tons of sand, 9,960 gallons of calcium chloride and 369,855 gallons of salt brine to the roads.
