Two Oconee Co. firefighters injured responding to crash

WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Oconee County Emergency personnel responded to more than 40 weather-related incidents Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, and two of their own were injured during a call.

Two firefighters were en route to an accident in Friendship when they were involved in a crash, according to Oconee County Fire Chief Charlie King.

King said the firefighters were in a personal vehicle. He said one of them was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital were he remained Wednesday and the other was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

No other information was released about their injuries. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
