SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Amidst the winter weather this week, a man whose car broke down along Interstate 85 told deputies when he went back to get his car - it was gone along with an identifying bumper sticker on its window.

The man called deputies Thursday evening when he discovered the car gone.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office report, the man broke down between the 63 and 66 mile marker on northbound I-85 about 9 a.m. Thursday. He told deputies a wrecker stopped to give him a jump, but when it still wouldn't start, he left the car on the side of the road.

Deputies said the man returned to the area sometime between 5 and 6 p.m. and discovered the car was gone. Neither the Highway Patrol or Duncan police had any record of towing the car, deputies said.

While the man said he left the car locked and had the keys that would start it, there was a key for the door in the glove box, deputies said.

The report described the car as a reddish-burgundy 2006 Ford Focus ZX3 with a South Carolina tag and a green diamond decal on the back window that reads "show me your t******." He also told deputies that the right rear hub cap was damaged and bent.

Anyone with information on the car's location can call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
