PIEDMONT, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County coroner said an autopsy showed that a teenager found dead Saturday morning suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Coroner Parks Evans said 19-year-old Marquail Hellams' body was found along on a gravel driveway off Davis Road near Charles Gandy Way in Piedmont.

Sgt. Jennings Autry the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said deputies received a call at 9:17 a.m. about a possible body in the area.

Deputies responded and found the teen's body with at least one visible gunshot wound, Autry said.

Evans said an autopsy conducted on Saturday showed Hellams died after receiving multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Hellams' friends and family are pleading the community to come forward with any information about the case.

"Somebody knows something. This is my baby boy, my son," said Hellams' mother, Jean Smith. "I'm asking for help."

Autry said deputies actively investigating the case are seeking the public's help.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.

Family told FOX Carolina News that the funeral for Hellams will be on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church at 505 White Horse Road in Greenville.
