DACUSVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Pickens County deputies said while they're continuing to follow up on leads in the January death of a Dacusville man, but more than a week later, there are still no updates.

Deputies said Shane Williams, 38, was found shot to death inside his family's Devon Court home about 3:45 a.m. on Jan. 26.

Williams' wife and son said they awoke to the sound of gunshots and discovered him dead inside their home, deputies said. But investigators said they found no signs of forced entry.

Since news of Williams death broke, deputies have not released much information about the investigation.

In the latest media release sent out by Chief Deputy Creed Hashe on Monday, he said investigators were chasing several leads in the case but they had no further comments on the investigation.

"I am personally involved in the investigative aspects of this case on a daily basis and I feel very confident that we will identify the person or persons responsible for Mr. Williams' death," Sheriff Rick Clark stated in the release.

Last week, Hashe said a five-member homicide team was investigating the case and they sent off forensic evidence to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division labs, asking for an expedited exam.

Hashe said investigators have ruled out suicide as a possibility and are categorizing the incident as a homicide.

Williams funeral was held on Wednesday. According to his online memorial, Williams was employed with Taylors Fire and Sewer and was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher.

Anyone that may have seen or heard anything is asked to call the Pickens County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
