ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two women have been arrested in connection with an Anderson County home invasion where the suspect they aided was killed, according to deputies.

Anderson County deputies said on Dec. 23, 2013, a man forced his way into the victims' Wren Road home in Piedmont.

The suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Rahim Shakur, put a woman in a chokehold at gunpoint but when her husband heard the commotion, he confronted Shakur with his own gun, according to deputies.

Deputies said Shakur fired a shot and the husband returned fire. They said the 78-year-old man was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his stomach, but he survived.

Shakur was driven to the hospital by a woman later identified as Angela Rogers, according to deputies. According to the coroner, Shakur died from his injuries at the hospital.

On Monday, deputies said Stephanie Robinson, 40, was with Shakur during the time of the home invasion and she drove him to meet up with Rogers. Robinson was arrested on Jan. 30 and charged with kidnapping, attempted murder and attempted armed robbery for her involvement, deputies said.

Deputies charged Rogers with accessory after the fact and she has since been released from jail. Deputies said Shakur, Robinson and Rogers were acquaintances.
