FLORENCE, AZ (CBS5) -

A warehouse fire that destroyed Pinal County's election equipment Monday night has been ruled accidental, according to fire officials.

The warehouse in downtown Florence was used to store all the county's election gear, including the central computer used to tabulate results, optical scanners and touch-screen machines used at polling sites, said County Recorder Virginia Ross.

Ross said no personal information was lost in the fire.

Fire investigators determined Tuesday afternoon that the fire was "accidental with a possible electrical cause."

Pinal County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tim Gaffney said a PCSO evidence room in an adjacent building suffered just water damage to packaging supplies.

Ross said the fire started about 10:30 p.m.

She said no one was injured and that the warehouse and its contents worth $1.2 million were a total loss.

Ross said the county's next election is the August state primary, and that county Board of Supervisors Chairman Anthony Smith assured her the elections department would get the necessary equipment to rebuild.
