SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said deputies are still looking for a third suspect who held up two women at gunpoint, shooting one of them, before the other one returned fire Wednesday morning.

Lt. Tony Ivey with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said about 12:40 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a home on Draymont Drive to investigate a robbery and shooting.

When officers arrived, Ivey said they found a woman who had been shot. He said there was a second woman who told them they were approached by two men with handguns who tried to rob them.

Wright said the women had returned home after stopping at an ATM and the three suspects had followed them home, looking to steal their money.

Several shots were fired, hitting Connie Young multiple times, Wright said. He said her friend fought back, firing several shots at the men.

"Hitting two out of three, that's a good shot to me," Wright said.

While he did not know if she had a concealed weapon permit, Wright applauded the friend for defending herself and said she clearly had practiced her shot. He also said she helped save her friend's life, though he acknowledged Young is in bad shape from her injuries.

And when the friend fought back, Wright said the men took off running.

A neighbor heard the commotion and thought something was happening in his yard and encountered one of them, Wright said. He said the man ordered the suspect to stop after realizing what happened, but when he didn't, the man whacked the man in the face with a shotgun.

"He's a hero, that's what we want people to do, to help their neighbor," Wright said.

Deputies located two of the suspects along Archer Road, and all three gunshot victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, Ivey said.

Deputies are actively looking for the third man. Wright said they hope he turns himself in peacefully, as he is wanted on about eight warrants.

"This is the guy right here that showed no regard for this lady's property and safety," Wright said while holding up a photo of the wanted man. "We need to find this gentleman."

There was no information released about any of the conditions of the wounded, but Wright asked for prayer for Young and her family because of serious injuries.

Wright reiterated multiple times that people need to learn to defend themselves, that is why he advocates people getting a CWP, though he said he does not advocate people taking the law into their own hands.

"It's disturbing when two ladies can't go by the ATM and go home safely," Wright said.

Wright also said he hopes the two suspects' wounds are minor so they can, "Stand before the judge and tell him why they robbed women at gunpoint."

Ivey identified the wanted man as Letoshman Bobo.

Bobo is wanted on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of armed robbery and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to warrants provided by the sheriff's office.

Dominick Thompson and Nicholas Bobo have already been arrested on the same charges and are being held at the Spartanburg County detention center, according to the sheriff's office.

Anyone with information on the case or the third man's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
