Deputies: Men accused of killing Cross Hill man and niece arrested

CROSS HILL, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Thursday, Deshanndon Franks, 26, and Tevin Hill, 22 were arraigned before a Lauren's County magistrate, where they were read the charges against them.

Deputies said both are charged with two counts of murder. Franks was also charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

On Wednesday, Lauren's County deputies arrested the two in connection with the shooting deaths of Sammie Leake, 47, and Nikesha James, 24. Leake and James were found shot to death inside their Cross Hill home on Friday. According to the coroner, Leake was James' uncle.

Deputies have not released any details about a motive behind the killings.

According to the arrest warrants, Franks was the one who shot both Leake and James and Hill was with him at the time of the shooting. Deputies said Hill lived on John Grant Street, just up the street from the victims' home.

A candlelight vigil and prayer was held on Monday on John Grant Street in Cross Hill, not far from where the two were found dead inside their home.

The State Law Enforcement Division and the coroner's officer were assisting deputies with the investigation.
