GILBERT, AZ (CBS5) -

School officials at a Gilbert elementary school say they've identified a student who made a threat against students and staff found on a school printer.

Greenfield Elementary School principal Colin Kelly said a teacher brought him a document Monday afternoon with a threat directed toward students and a teacher that had been printed on a classroom computer.

Kelly said the message was produced on campus and the Gilbert Police Department is investigating.

On Tuesday morning, parents received an email from Kelly that the student was identified and will receive the "appropriate consequences" following district guidelines. He said there is no threat to any students or staff members.

"We live in a day and age when even the slightest of threats is treated with the utmost attention and concern," Kelly said in a statement Tuesday.
