SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A woman tricked a tenant into opening her apartment door in a home invasion in Scottsdale late Monday night.

The woman stood outside the door and asked for help. When the victim went to answer, the woman and three men rushed into the apartment in the 7900 block of E. Via De Ventura, police said.

The suspects hit her, displayed knives and threatened her with the weapons, officers said.

Police said the suspects were apparently looking for an acquaintance of hers that the group thought was there.

When they couldn't find their intended target, they scooped up electronics and jewelry and fled the home, officers said.

The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.
