HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
More charges were filed against a former officer after Henderson County deputies said they found him with explicit images of children.
Chief Deputy Frank Stout said Daniel Lindsey, 27, turned himself back into the sheriff's office on Wednesday on three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Deputies said during their investigation, they downloaded sexually explicit images of children off of an electronic device belonging to Lindsey.
Stout said the device was not issued to Lindsey by the sheriff's office and the images did not appear to be of local students or residents.
Lindsey was first arrested by deputies earlier in January on three felony counts of sex offense with a student. At the time of his arrest, Stout said Lindsey was a school resource officer at the Balfour Educational Center and the sheriff said he had sexual contact with a 16-year-old female on three occasions in October and once in December 2013.
Lindsey began working with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office in 2008 and was fired at the time of his arrest, deputies said.
As the investigation continued, deputies charged him with one felony count of disseminating obscenity and 14 misdemeanor counts of disseminating material harmful to minors.
Following his most recent arrest, Stout said Lindsey's bond was set at $30,000 secured, which he posted.
