SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two people have been arrested after an Upstate man's car was stolen while on a date with someone he met online, according to police.

Spartanburg police said the victim had been in contact with a woman name Rachel on a dating site since December and on Feb. 3 he met her in person and they spent the day driving around.

At one point during the date, the victim went into the Walgreens to buy some snacks and when he returned, his car and Rachel were gone.

On Feb. 6, Greer police said they noticed a vehicle matching the description of the victim's car with a man driving it and a woman in the passenger seat.

Greer police stopped the car and placed the driver, 46-year-old Raymond Jones, under arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle, according to the incident report.

Police said they then found two small marijuana blunts in Russell's pockets, the incident report said.

Police then asked the female passenger what her name was, to which she gave a false name, according to police. After questioning they were able to determine her name was Rachel Booker, 43, and charged her with providing false information to police, according to the incident report.

Russell is also charged with driving under suspension, simple possession of marijuana and a failure to comply bench warrant.
