Teen charged after deputies say he shot man inside car

SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office has charged a Central teen in the shooting death of a 21-year-old North Carolina man early Saturday morning in Seneca, according to deputies.

Deputies said Octavis Robinson, 17, of Central, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting of a man inside a car on West Cherry Road near the intersection of J.P. Stevens Road.

Deputies said they were called to the scene just after 1:30 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the back.

Coroner Karl Addis said Rashean Parker II, 21, of Gastonia, NC, was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead at 3 a.m.

Deputies said Robinson shot Parker with a handgun while the two were driving away after the pair attempted to rob someone else.

Deputies said the investigation was ongoing and said more charges are pending.

Addis said Parker died from a single gunshot wound to the chest that resulted in internal bleeding.

According to Addis, the wound was consistent with that of a .45 caliber injury.
